I was everything, and nothing

Things have been rough lately

Journal Entry: Thu Oct 29, 2009, 9:11 AM
Well, well, well... Let's just say in the last couple of weeks things haven't been so fun especially on the health side.

I had to stop photography for a while and slow down on everything else, doctor orders. A nice shadowy spot appeared in my right eye almost in the middle of my field of vision. I noticed it when I landed in Thunder Bay for a business trip. I thought it was only because I was tired of the flights. But the spot kept growing in size and my vision getting worse. I decided to go to the hospital in thunder Bay before I left just to make sure it wasn't anything serious. They gave me an ok to go, but then once back home in Montréal I had to go to the hospital and they told me what I had, I'm sorry but I have no idea how to translate the proper term. But it's stress related, so I have to slow down and try to pin point what stresses me the most and avoid it... not that easy :s

Anyway things are getting better now and the spot is getting smaller (sort of) at least I can work with both my eyes open which I couldn't do at the beginning.

Don't really know what I'll do about photography though... I have to slow down a bit. Ok I haven't posted anything here for a while but trust me it's only because I don't have time to do it. I need to take care of my DA account a bit more I think.

Other than that eye issue, everything seems to be going good. Some stressful things at work, but still in general my life is going well.

Just wish I can catch that H1N1 so I don't have to get the vaccine... People are just panicking about that virus in Canada, my god Influenza kills more people each month than the H1N1. People should breath in, breath out and try not to be nuts about it... JUST CALM DOWN!

I guess that's it for now...

There was a summer?

Journal Entry: Thu Sep 17, 2009, 8:27 AM
For people living in Québec I must ask you a question. Was there a summer or is it just me? Well the only thing I can say September is like summer, just a bit colder outside, it doesn't compensate for the crappy summer, but it's still fun though.

Since my last journal what's been happening with me... A LOT! I won't tell you everything but I've been very busy, photo, work and personal life. I need a vacation ;) But I'm very happy :)

I'm still working on my online presence, I'd say my new website is about half way completed and should be online sometime in October/November. I just need to fix the flash and choose some pictures to put on. I will cleanup my DA soon, too much old things. I will reprocess most of them anyway.

July is upon us

Journal Entry: Sun Jun 28, 2009, 6:27 PM
Well, well, well...

Since my last journal I came back from Ireland and start to process my pictures of the trip, about 50 of them so far both in IR and regular colour. I posted a couple of them on DA but most of them are on my PBase account, you can find them here [link] and [link] I still don't know how many of them I'll post on DA though.

I decided to restructure my online presence as well this summer. I plan to work on my website, well to finish the flash version of it and have it online by September. I started two blogs, one for pictures only [link] and the other one with text [link] just for the fun of it (french only). I will probably do a major clean-up on my DA account since photography has taken a drastic change for me in the last couple of months, I've been shooting lots of events and concerts so I think I'll modify my account to reflect this new reality. Landscape, architecture, portraits, IR will still take some place, but not as much as they were before. My Facebook account also is getting bigger, well I'll use it differently [link] As you can see lots of change online for me this summer.

I'll have a busy summer though, lots of events and probably a few trips to client sites for work. It's going to be a fun summer I'm sure :)

Hummmmm looks like I don't have much to write about today... Oh well...

Two weeks left before a quiet summer

Journal Entry: Fri May 15, 2009, 5:12 AM
As I had mentionned in my last journal, my 11 weeks of craziness is almost over. I'll be heading to Ireland in only two weeks and when I'll be back... well... nothing planned so far!

New York
Abitibi (northern Québec)
Colombia
Toronto
Ireland

New York was fun, but as usual I just couldn't take any pictures. It's a very photogenic city, but I don't know I just can't capture it. All my pictures are c**p and the weather was awful, rain and thunderstorms except for one day out of the four I spent there.

Abitibi, well... family... So it was fun and quite relaxing.

Colombia, my friend's wedding was great, a simple ceremony with only about 40 people there. I almost killed myself getting out of the shower as well. I did take a lot of pictures, but I haven't processed the pictures yet, I need some time. It's interesting to see you get controlled, searched, etc... four times before you actually board your plane on the way out. And on the way in, two questions and welcome back to the country. WTF...

Toronto was fun, but I went there for a big mining conference. With the economy, it was quiet and almost nobody went to the exhibition, which sucked big time. At our booth, only a dozen or so people stopped by to ask questions over a three day period. Oh well...

Now it's Ireland... VACATION and pictures :D

Other than that I shot a few concerts to keep myself busy, I even did my first Centre Bell which was very exciting :)

I'm looking forward to a quiet summer, I have a few projects for the period. I need to put my new website online. Post process a LOT of pictures and maybe go on a few escapades in or around town during the week-ends. As far as big trips are concerned, there's nothing before the fall 2010 with Australia/New Zealand.

That's it for now...

Well the title says it all, well almost.

Today Monday March 30th is the beginning of 11 weeks of craziness in my life, I know what I'm getting into and it's going to be lots of fun, at least that's what I'm hoping.

So here's part of my schedule  and that's only for the next 11 weeks...

New York
Abitibi (northern Québec)
Colombia
Toronto
Ireland

This is ONLY the travelling part of it, you need to add work, a couple concerts, one photo shoot, a few  with my buddies and probably an extra trip or two for work :eyepopping:

So I'll be busy, busy, busy... and I like it :excited:

I need to find time to send my camera to Nikon, I need to send it for a good cleaning and pixel mapping, there's some nasty hot pixels showing up on some pictures and it bugs me.

Other than that everything is fine, almost no snow left

So that's the new stuff, actually I'll spend more time on DA since I decided to let go a few forums I was writing on. Oh and I'll finally rebuild my website after two years, yup I will and it's going to look nice :)

Once again, some pictures from my favourites in no particular order.
